Moving away from an old CollabNet, Subversion Edge, TeamForge SVN, CloudForge or self-hosted SVN server can be done step by step. We can first test the migration, verify repository history, branches and tags, and only then switch your team to the new SVN URL.
Simple SVN repository migrations start from 250 €. Larger migrations with multiple repositories, LDAP/Active Directory, custom permissions, hooks or very large repositories are reviewed individually.
We check where your repositories are hosted today, how large they are and whether users, permissions, hooks or LDAP/AD need to be migrated.
Depending on your setup, we use a repository dump, svnsync or another suitable approach.
We import the repository into SVN-Hoster first, so history, branches and tags can be checked before production use.
Users, groups and permissions are configured in VCSAdmin. LDAP/Active Directory requirements can be reviewed if needed.
After testing, your team updates the repository URL in TortoiseSVN, svn CLI, IDEs or build systems.
SVN-Hoster operates the hosting environment with SSL/TLS, backups, browser-based administration and support.
Your existing SVN server can stay in place while we prepare and test the hosted repository. Your team only switches to the new SVN URL after the test import has been verified.
You do not have to move everything at once. A test migration can be performed first, so your team can validate the hosted repository before changing production workflows.
